Femi Azu, winner of 2015 CNN/ Multi choice Economic and Business Award has urged Journalists to be diligent in their chosen profession.

Azu who graced the JFC Fellowship, October edition appreciate and give all glory to God who has made the award a reality, he equally appreciate the ceaseless effort of his editor who has been a driven and motivating factor for him to come out with the best story.

While addressing brethren at the meeting, the Punch energy correspondent disclosed that the story that won him the award wasn't his idea but that of his editor while he (Femi) gave in his best to make the story a reality. He encouraged journalists to always put in their best in whatever assignment being given. In his words, " little things matter, it is very important for journalists to always look out for opportunities around," he said.

Azu confirmed that apart from the financial lift that the award has given him, it has also given him an exposure and he sees the award as a challenge to always do better and improve.

In the same vein, the President of JFC, Mr. Lekan Otufodunrin encouraged brethren at the fellowship to always see challenge as an opportunity, he charged everyone to always act on faith because God can make ways in all crises and noted that JFC focus on both spiritual and physical growth of its members , and the goal of JFC is to focus on a pursuit of Godly excellence. He pointed out that everyone needs the grace of God to excel in any chosen career.

In his admonition, the President give two Bible references (Phil 3: 13-15, 4:8) to charge everyone to rise to the challenge an aim for excellence. According to him, " be diligent in whatever you do and give in the best, do it as if it unto the Lord, overlook the challenges, because, God has diverse ways of prospering his own people," the President reaffirmed.

Otufodunrin pointed out six lessons to learnt at the CNN award held in Kenya and they include:

1. Your vision can become a legacy.
2. Don't think small, God works in diverse. Ways.
3. A website well manage can change your life (Premium Times).
4. In whatever you do, compete favourably.
5. An award winning story may not necessarily come from your original beat or place of assignment.
6. Tighter editing is very key to a story.

The next JFC meeting is Scheduled for November 21, 2015.
