The Management of Bayero University, Kano has
announced Professor Umaru A. Pate as the pioneer Dean of Faculty of Communications
and Film Studies, Bayero University, Kano {BUK}.
The management of the University made this known
after the Faculty was accredited and endorsed by the National University
Commission {NUC}.
The Faculty will kick off with three Departments:
Communication Studies, Theatre and Performing Arts and Information and Media
Studies.
It was gathered that aside from Pate who is the Dean
of the Faculty, he will be assisted with Dr. Suleiman Yar’dua as the Deputy ,
others Hajara Sanada {Sub-Dean; Academics} and Dr. Mainasara Kurfi as the
Sub-Dean, Facilities.
The University explained that the major reason for
the establishment of the Faculty is to improve and ensure a better
professionalism in the field of Communication.
